Appearance and Work Attire

The Company's public image is often a direct result of the image you project. Your appearance, attitude and conduct are important in creating a positive public image. Your attire should reflect our image as professional business people.

We respect our employees' rights to personal expression. However, employees are the face of our Company and we seek to be a welcoming environment to all guests. Please note that the following are NOT permitted to be on display while on duty:

  • More than one facial piercing (employees are permitted to wear one small, discreet ball bearing-style stud piercing – spikes are not permitted)

  • Facial tattoos

  • Any tattoos that may be: racially offensive, display graphic nudity/inappropriate images, or may harass others on the basis of gender, religion, ethnicity, etc.

Employees must notify their supervisor of the intent to get any new tattoos or piercings that will be visible to guests, in order to ensure compliance with the above policy.

The following are general guidelines for all employees for acceptable and unacceptable appearance/work attire:

Acceptable

  • Staff must wear non-slip, rubber-soled, closed-toe shoes, in accordance with the dress code for their prospective areas.

  • Hairstyles and hair color should be as natural as possible, neat and appropriate for our business work environment. Trendy haircuts such as Mohawks or sidewalls will not be allowed. A conservative cut or a neat pony tail is permitted. Mustaches and beards should be neatly trimmed. Hair that extends below the collar should be tied neatly with an appropriate hair accessory. This applies to both men and women.

  • Jewelry, nails and accessories should be appropriate and in good taste. A neutral or subdued color or clear nail polish is acceptable.

  • Earrings may dangle no more than 1 inch; hoops can be no larger than a quarter.

  • Make-up and perfume, when worn, should be conservative and in good taste.

Unacceptable

  • Visible undergarments

  • Clothing that is too short or tight fitting.

If you report to work improperly dressed, you may be sent home by your supervisor to change into proper attire. This time will not be compensable.

Failure to observe these standards may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
